In the 1980s, almost all personal computers were 8-bit, meaning that bytes could hold values ranging from 0 to 255.
ASCII codes only went up to 127, so some machines assigned values between 128 and 255 to accented characters.
The sections below explain how to install and run SITL, and how to connect to Drone Kit-Python and Ground Stations at the same time. You can natively build SITL from source on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X, or from within a Vagrant Linux virtual environment.
tool on all platforms, and works by downloading and running pre-built vehicle binaries that are appropriate for the host operating system. Building from source is useful if you want to need to test the latest changes (or any use a version for which Drone Kit-SITL does not have pre-built binaries).
(Actually the missing accents matter for English, too, which contains words such as ‘naïve’ and ‘café’, and some publications have house styles which require spellings such as ‘coöperate’.) For a while people just wrote programs that didn’t display accents.
I remember looking at Apple ][ BASIC programs, published in French-language publications in the mid-1980s, that had lines like these: Those messages should contain accents, and they just look wrong to someone who can read French.
On https://pypi.python.org/pypi/simplejson/ , they'll find no such helpful instructions. Npm makes publishing packages as easy as installing them, it already has 64k packages. That said, I really wish package management on Python would receive more love and care, so I'm glad to see PEP 439 as pointed out by @Cartroo.
You get: The recipes in this book alone are worth the money, but Jason very effectively breaks down the theory behind each algorithm, and outlines their appropriate use-case.While it was current at the time, the link in this question is now to the legacy distutils documentation. It makes the community's wealth of libraries accessible to everyone.I filed bugs.python.org/issue26014 to cover that these docs need to be clearer that they're no longer suitable for use as end user documentation (they're solely kept around for the benefit of tool implementors). Newbies are no longer excluded from using community libraries by the prohibitive difficulty of setup. If you need to observe them in a GCS you should run SITL externally and use MAVProxy to connect to it.This Python video training course with Ben Finkel covers basic and advanced programming topics using the Python programming language.
